Fabulous Frogs

Frogs live in water, land, and even trees! Frogs eat spiders, bugs, earthworms, and snails. Birds, fish, snakes, and bats eat frogs. Toads and frogs are hard to tell apart. Frogs have smooth skin while toads have bumpy skin. Toads are really a kind of  frog! Frogs sometimes sound like dogs, maybe ducks too. Frogs do this by pushing air from their lungs into their throat. Sound comes out when the air passes their vocal cords. Just like snakes, frogs shed their skin. The old skin falls off revealing the new skin. Frogs jump far because their legs fold up then spring out. They can jump up to 10 feet. The Goliath Frog of West Africa is the biggest frog ever. The Little Grass Frog is the smallest frog  in the  world. It is so small that it can fit on a dime. In fact half a dime is how tiny it is! The life cycle of frogs start with eggs. The eggs grow into tiny tadpoles with tail. They grow some more and start losing their tail. The frog's life cycle is completed when they grow into adult frogs.
